ProMark 800 Now Demoing at Stakemill Multi-Constellation and Multi-Frequency

Spectra Precision Ashtech ProMark 800

Spectra Precision Ashtech ProMark 800

Stakemill has taken delivery of the new Spectra Precision version of Ashtech’s ProMark 800, replacement GNSS Receiver for the Ashtech/Magellan ProMark 500.

More ProMarks than anyone

More ProMarks than anyone

What a great way to bring in 2012, the new Spectra ProMark 800 units have a gray body color and the same tried and true accessories that previous ProMark 500 users are familiar with.  We will be dialing into the eGPS network to let this triple frequency and multi constellation unit do what it does best, lock onto satellites. We are excited to see it lock onto satellites in any order and expect its fix time to be the fastest ever. For those users of other brand GNSS Receivers, never again will you have to wait for an L1 solution before unit will start using another constellation.  The new ProMark 800 will track any satellite regardless of constellation and acquire its fix unlike the other brands in no particular order.  Stop in and see first hand the L5 and GALILEO options at work.

Multi-frequency & multi-constellation GNSS receiverThe ProMark 800 rover and rover/base system, with its 120 channels, offer L1/L2/L5 GPS+GLONASS+GALILEO field-proven technologies for surveying and geodesy. This is a powerful RTK survey solution delivering precise GNSS positioning in a smart, rugged, cable-free and flexible design.

Advanced Z-Blade Technology
The new Z-Blade GNSS Centric technology optimally uses GNSS signals and takes advantage of each GNSS constellation to deliver fast and stable RTK positions, even when GPS coverage is insufficient, like in dense urban canyons or heavy tree canopy. Not like all GNSS receivers which prioritize GPS satellite signals over signals from other constellations, ProMark 800 with Z-Blade is no longer GPS dependent (requiring a minimum of 4 to 5 GPS satellites) to acquire and maintain precise positioning. Z-Blade GNSS Centric algorithm treats equally all available satellite signals and then combines them for optimal performance.

  • Fully independent GNSS satellites tracking and processing
  • Fully independent code and phase measurements
  • Quick signal detection engines for fast acquisition and re-acquisition of GNSS signals
  • Advanced multi-path mitigation
  • Use of SBAS and GLONASS ranging signals to strengthen the GPS solution
  • Extended solution reliability in urban canyon and under tree canopy

The mix of exceptional RTK performance and compact design makes the ProMark 800 an extremely powerful and appealing RTK solution for demanding professional land surveyors. Waterproof, shock resistant, cable free, light-weight, and with long battery life, the ProMark 800 offers all-day operations in any environmental conditions.

All-in-one Flexibility
ProMark 800 includes extended wireless network communications modules, for maximum mobility and flexibility in the field. An RTC bridge function enables a network-connected ProMark 800 rover to rebroadcast RTK corrections to multiple rovers.

  • UHF and GSM/GPRS/3.5G built-in communication modules
  • Multiple operating modes and configurations
  • Extended support of protocols and data formats

Feature-rich Surveying Solution
ProMark 800 offer includes field and office software as well as data collectors choice to ensure you get a robust, ready-to-use, cable free RTK rover solution.

  • FAST Survey field software simplifies data collection and real-time operation.
  • GNSS Solutions office software provides powerful support to a wide range of applications.
  • Real Time Data Server Software (RTDS) is a software offering land surveying companies the possibility of using GNSS equipment to build their own Direct IP RTK corrections server.

LTI Range Finders

LTI Range Finders

Recently we were presented with four stunning new TruPulse Laser Range Finder color choices.  These new rubberized finishes compliment numerous other GPS and Rugged PC manufacturers along with select hunting patterns. Now the hunters have a reason to buy the LTI’s, as a dual use distance meter, both at work and play.  When I first saw the Orange unit I thought oh boy, my Gators and UM fans will love this, then I saw the Garnet and Gold edition, or more like Maroon and Tan.  Either way my Florida customers will be happy to show their school colors while working, for some reason I have a feeling the Land Surveyors will be Orange with Blue accents and my Utility Contractors will be Garnet & Gold.

Don’t think any features have been removed to add these new color choices, in fact the new 200′s have enhanced firmware options, two-way Bluetooth, upgrade display and more features listed below.  You will love the new feel and look of these TruPulse models, available in 200, 200B, 360 & 360B versions.  Please call or see our website for complete details.

Local eBay Seller Claims Online Sellers Have Run Instrument Prices Down For Him

December 21, 2011

In the 20+ years I have worked for Stakemill I have never heard such a ridiculous claim as I did today. We have been located in Largo for over 25 years, for the last four years we have been on the corner of US 19 North and 126th Ave (where they used to build the Checkers Drive Thru restaurants).  We have participated in online selling as well as selling through our retail store and with outside sales personnel going door to door.  About two years ago we had a new supplier or as we call a store-less supplier get into the Land Survey Instrument resale business in our city. Recently I had a discussion with a local supplier and we were discussing the visit of an instrument vendor stopping by to visit us this week and the comment they made about this local being out of business, one that I just saw selling on eBay.  It was confirmed that the eBay seller still exists, as they work from a storage shed located at a local church in our county, and they are still selling online only.  I was informed that this eBay seller thinks the Instrument vendor has ruined the market by having just anyone sell their line and they were one of the first to sell this line through their non-existent store and felt it unfair so they ceased dealings with this Instrument vendor.  So in a Readers Digest version of the story, its okay when you sell online and drive the price down, but when someone with no building, employees, utility bills, insurance bills, bank fees, merchant fees, employees salaries, vehicle expenses, phone system, forklifts, sign regulations, inventory reports, boxes, packing materials, network of PCs, service center, loaner units, demo models and oh yeah, inventory does it to them its unfair.

This has entreated me so much I have taken one of our GPS units from inventory to map out our location to their location and allow you the reader to see if this business has a legitimate complaint.  I will upload the map in Google Earth so you can see their facility and judge for yourself it they are a real supply shop as their name implies.  This is the first blog I have allowed you to comment on so please be truthful.

We also sell online, but we do not sell at cost, I know the end users wants a good deal but it is unfair when an established brick and mortar store provides a customer a product demo and the customer then goes back to the office and searches the product online and buys from a dot com that has minimal overhead.  They do not provide any of the support or product training but they close the sale and in turn have record sales levels with the manufactures thus making them appear to be movers and shakers in the industry when in fact they are in turn, degrading the product lines.
