MobileMapper 100 Easily Connects to eGPS RTK Network

With the new centimeter accuracy Ashtech MobileMapper 100′s shipping soon Stakemill was able to take a unit in within minutes have it sync’d the the largest RTK network in the world.  The Windows Mobile 6.5 OS System on the MM100 allows for point and click settings and network activation is all fully automatic due to the built in GSM feature. This unique new survey and mapping unit already has centimeter accuracy with its built in antenna, but the added GLONASS and RTK feature are just too tempting to leave alone.  With the eGPS RTK network, a hot spot cell phone or the built in GSM modem and an unlimited data plan from your cell phone provider and you are logging points at an accuracy better than most hand helds with an external antenna.  I guess a bit of practice with the old board game operation is on this weekends to do list, we want steady hands since we are no longer tied to a 2 meter pole, cable and antenna any longer unless we want near survey grade accuracy. 

One would have to argue just why eGPS is the best, but the simple fact that eGPS is run by a licensed Land Surveyor and possibly the most highly intelligent support tech “Lance Andre” works there, or the fact they cover multiple states, or the fact they use Choke Ring Antennas, (did we mention Lance?) or the fact they provide RTK corrections to simply more customers make it obvious why they are our choice and should be your choice, don’t settle for old outdated technology just because it sounds the same.
